Lil Bit of Sunshine News and updates

Sunny skies; Summer heat & thriving garden

I hope this email finds you all well.

My garden is thriving, and I'm aiming for a bumper crop of tomatoes this year – enough to share generously with my brother, Larry, (he's the one that supplied me with my newest raised garden bed); and still have plenty for myself.

Tomatoes are a good source of several key nutrients, including potassium, vitamin C, folate, and vitamin K. They also contain antioxidants like lycopene, which is known for its potential health benefits. Additionally, tomatoes are a source of fiber and various other vitamins and minerals. When I eat a freshly picked tomato; It tastes like I'm eating pure SUNSHINE. No wonder when you look at the nutrients they include.

I am thankful Jesus knows the desires of my heart, when my expressed desire was to eat ripe tomatoes from my garden. I can die happy now. These turned out beautifully red and I could taste them oozing with vitamin K!

Thank you for your hard work.

Looks like Tonya Mcdonald holds first place;

Robin Billings, and Rhonda Hendrix

were our top 3 herb ladies with Judy Brooks a close 4th.

 I’m so proud of each of you.

Carol Wilson and Natures Blessings most definately receive honerable mention.

Keep up the great work!

On a more personal note, I've experienced some more health challenges recently.

Since my last communication, I've required two emergency room visits (via the ambulance for one) and an outpatient procedure.

 The accumulation of toxins from  cancer caused damage to my kidneys, resulting in a concerning health scare for myself and my family.

Following a double drainage procedure and the subsequent installation of a drain tube and port, I am now recovering.

While still sore, I am two days post-procedure and looking forward to relaxing In a long hot shower when my hospice aide  gets here today.

Without Rhonda’s help I would give up the newsletter (which I love to write) because sitting in the office chair causes so much swelling it leaves me weak. But she’s offered to take care of it so I can continue to keep in contact with you all and show my gratitude for your hard work.

YOU ALL are in my thoughts, but my body says 'enough' too soon when I try to keep up.
